Meet Ms. Andrea
I grew up in Southern Minnesota in the smallish town of Waseca. In high school I volunteered in a Kindergarten classroom and the teacher would constantly tell me that I would be a great teacher. I told her “No Way!” I had big dreams to be an accountant so I went to the University of St. Thomas for a degree in business. I soon found out that business was not for me and I changed majors to Elementary Education. I taught for two years in a preschool and then two more years in kindergarten before I got married and moved to Australia for almost four years. Upon returning I have taught in the Zebra room at St. Therese, subbed in every Early Learning Center classroom and am now starting my fourth year teaching in the half day program as an Owl teacher. I am mom to Fletcher and Stella and dog mom to Willow, our one-year-old St. Bernard.

Meet Ms. Catie
Ms. Catie graduated from College of St. Benedict with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. After a year volunteering in Guatemala, she came back to the states and found her way to Hamline where she earned a Post-Secondary degree in Elementary Education. The youngest of four, Catie spent a lot of her younger years playing with her nieces and nephews, as well as babysitting. Before landing at STS, Catie was a First Grade teaching assistant at Breck where she focused on helping with guided reading in the classrooms. She has been teaching preschool for six years, five of which have been at St. Therese. Having grown up in the country getting dirty and playing outside, Catie is thrilled to teach at St. Therese, where children have ample opportunities to use the natural area around them to explore and discover. She strives to provide opportunities that help foster each child's various learning styles, build motor skills, spark investigation, learn how to be a good friend, and gain confidence.
When not teaching, Catie enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 kids (J.J. - 11, Ella - 9, and Cooper - 6), going for walks, watching youth sports, or spending time with friends.
Here are a few of her favorite things:
